Expression to our love for the beauty and feel of wood has lead us on a
continuing journey of discovery. Through the ancient Art and Craft
of woodturning, the subtle drama and exquisite coloration of
nature's quirks are revealed. These would have been lost to the naked
eye if the wood were not laid open in exploration.

In
the first half of his life as a successful automotive technician and
garage owner, Frank did not find a sufficient outlet for his creative
wizardry. Only when he took up woodturning "on a lark" did the magic
suddenly happen! Years of diligent study, observation, training, and
practical experience later, his deft touch with the tools combined with
a keen eye for shape and form have evolved. Cheri complements and
builds on his creativity with her background in clothing and flat
surface decoration.

Frank
and Cheri began offering their woodturnings for sale to the public in a
medieval style booth they constructed at the Ohio Renaissance Festival
in 1988. Frank's Christmas ornaments were an instant hit, and they have
been popular ever since. Many customer have started a collection,
adding anew signed ornament each year. Their work is on display in
several galleries throughout the U.S.
|
They
have demonstrated the techniques used in creating their ornaments, oil
lamps, spinning tops, and other woodturned items for various
woodturning clubs since the early 90's, and continue with public and
private instruction today.
|
Since
their move to southwest Florida, they have become deeply involved with
a program sponsored by the City of Fort Myers, which is helping to
introduce the joys of hands-on woodturning to the next generation -
students aged 11 and older.
